Edgar Degas was the star guest at the Fifth Grand Sculpture Salon-2011. The “Degas sections” exhibited 74 bronze sculptures by the master, recreated from preserved wax figures and commissioned by the artist’s heirs. The complete collection of masterpieces of the French Impressionist master’s plastic art, owned by Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Igor Voronov, was presented in Ukraine for the first time. A separate space was created at the salon to exhibit Edgar Degas’s works, curated by Kyiv gallerist Ievgen Karas, president of the ACAFU.
The exhibition at the Mystetskyi Arsenal lasted from February 17 to March 13, 2011.
