
Ukrainian Diary. Cologne
The art project "A4, ballpoint pen" took place in Germany on 21 of February 2025 ar the HALLE Alte Feuerwache Cologne as a part of interdisciplinary project «UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH. Aus der Vergangenheit für die Zukunft».
A retrospective review of the development and transformation of Ukrainian visual art over almost 20 years was presented by works from the project “A4, Ballpoint Pen” combined with a performative event. The main goal was to demonstrate to the European cultural community Ukrainian artistic potential and to give an idea of the development of Ukrainian contemporary art and the prospects for integration into European cultural projects. Artists from Ukraine and Germany was curated by jazz singer Laura Marti and notable choreographer Viktor Ruban. On February 22, 2025 as a visual art section the participants presented their reflections on the themes of the future and renewal, combining body language, music and complementing the static visual presentation of the exhibition.
The project “UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH” was implemented by the public organization Perfect Art Group, with the support of Karas Gallery, and is co-financed by the ZMINA: Rebuilding program. This program was created with the support of the European Union in Ukraine and ICF IZOLYATSIA, Platform for Cultural Initiatives, Trans Europe Halles and Malý Berlín as a special call for applications to support Ukrainian refugees and the Ukrainian cultural and creative sectors.
