"Ukrainian Still Life" - is a large analytical project aimed at collecting and analyzing the largest number of works in the genre of still life in the history of Ukrainian art. The aim of the project is to find a certain formula of Ukrainian still life as a phenomenon of Ukrainian self-identification through the historical optics of artists of different generations, because still life is primarily the logic of placing objects on the plane - their composition.
Художнє осмислення композиції є однією з найважливіших характеристик для кожного митця адже за композиції стоїть логіка світосприйняття. Зображення пейзажу, чи, тим паче, моделі набагато простіше за натюрморт. В натюрморті немає людської привабливості та емоцій, якими можна замаскувати технічні та композиційні неточності та помилки. Робота з предметами, самовдосконалення у баченні світла та тіней на дрібних деталях є ознакою високої майстерності, саме з академічних натюрмортів починає свій професійний шлях фаховий живописець та графік.
The Association of Contemporary Art Figures and “Karas Gallery” together with the Modern Art Research Institute, the National Museum “Kyiv Picture Gallery”, the Odessa Art Museum, the National Center of Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum”, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Art Gallery “Dzyga”, the Fund for Cultural Initiatives “ArtHuss” are starting a series of exhibitions of both historical and contemporary works of art dedicated to this genre on their exhibition spaces. The art project was started on the 26 of July 2018 and invite collectors and artists to participate in this large-scale analytical project.
